Building was designed to withstand the harsh weather of Kodiak Island which endures frequent high winds and large amounts of rain. The entire building envelope was designed principals over a breathable weather proof barrier (VaproShield Wallshield) in black color for open joint and perforated panels. The architect and owner incorporated petroglyphs found on nearby Afognak in to the building’s cladding system. NorthClad Rain Screen Panel’s wide range of perforation capabilities allowed for such a design to be incorporated into their panels for this project to give a stunning this building. The design of the building takes complete advantage of the incredible view looking to the west sound with unmatched rugged views that is Kodiak Island.
